PANEL DISCUSSANTS
Opening Panel Discussants
To serve as panel discussants after the lecture by the Main Speaker, three scholars on the region are also in the process of being invited as guests by the Department. They are composed of the following : Dr. Jesus Peralta, Dr. Nicole Revel, and Dr. Wilhelm Solheim.
Dr. Jesus Peralta is cited in the opening pages of Oppenheimer’s Eden in the East. In this book, Oppenheimer says that his meeting and talk with Dr. Peralta has served as a third nudge for him to write on the topic of his book.
The second discussant will be Nicole Revel who has made a study on the culture and language of Oceania.
The third, of course, is Dr. Wilhelm Solheim whose Nusantao Hypothesis shares some parallelisms with that of Oppenheimer’s thesis, minus the genetic and mythical components.
